Erik Angeli was superb between the pipes for the Walkerton Hawks, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Kincardine Bulldogs. Walkerton was sparked by Ryan Hamelin, who registered one goal. Hamelin scored 7:33 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Walkerton. Lauchlin Elder picked up the assist. The Hawks' offense operated below their season average. Walkerton averages 5.1 goals per game. The Hawks' defensive play was more effective than usual against Kincardine. Walkerton averages 2.4 goals allowed per game. Walkerton also had goals scored by Mitch Borden and Calvin Penney, who each put in one. More assists for Walkerton came via Jay Thomson, Brett Coulson, and Brendan Welsh, who contributed one each. The Bulldogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Walkerton power plays. Kincardine could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Bulldogs put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. The Hawks were unable to stop Kincardine from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bulldogs eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Angeli recorded 32 saves for Walkerton. The Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mitch Campbell made 24 saves for Kincardine on 26 shots. The Bulldogs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
