The Goderich Flyers took the lead against the Walkerton Hawks in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 3-1 victory. Goderich took over the lead for good with a goal by Joseph Dykstra at 17 seconds in the first period. Marcel Fohkens picked up the assist.The Flyers were led by goalie Nathan Watson, who finished with 31 saves while allowing one goal. Watson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 5.7 entering the contest. Goderich was sparked by Eric McPhee, who registered one goal. McPhee scored 2:09 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Goderich. Jordan Pepper assisted on the tally. Goderich also got points from Fohkens, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Walkerton's offense operated below its season average. The Hawks put an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. Walkerton's offense rang up 32 shots on the Flyers' net. The Hawks were led by John McCrae, who scored the team's only goal. McCrae scored 17:45 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Goderich. Lauchlin Elder provided the assist.
