The Mitchell Hawks and the Kincardine Bulldogs skate to 5-5 (OT) tie

Even though Mitchell's Jake Finlayson netted two goals and Mitch Boertien(AP) ccontributed one point, the Hawks was held to a tie by Kincardine,.

Mitchell forced Bulldogs' goalies to work in net, ripping 43 shots and forcing 38 saves. Mitch Campbell made 30 stops and Luke Aulthouse made eight. The Hawks surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Mitchell has scored at the pace of 2.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

Mitchell also got points from McKenzie Carter, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kyle Spence also scored for Mitchell. More assists for Mitchell came via Brett Stacey, who had two, Bayley Boyes, who had three, and Zach Goodhew, Jordan MacKenzie, and Tyler Pauli, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs forced the Hawks' goaltenders to work without much rest, racking up 48 shots and forcing 43 saves. Clay Carter made 23 stops and Graeme Lauersen made 20. Kincardine's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The Bulldogs' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Kincardine finished with 34 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs were led by Brycin Morrison, who racked up one goal and two assists. Morrison scored 17:24 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Kincardine. Dalton Hnatko provided the assist. Kincardine additionally got points from Hnatko, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Gerrit Satosek, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Kincardine also had goals scored by Matt Baker and Matthew Mah, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Alex Labrosse, Shawn Moore, Luke Czuczman, and Sam Feagan, who contributed one each.

Mitchell incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and MacKenzie was ejected from the game. Kincardine registered two goals on two power play opportunities.
