Wingham downs Kincardine in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Wescast Complex Rink Sun, Dec 28, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Darren Kerr gave the Wingham Ironmen a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Kincardine Bulldogs when he scored 51 seconds into the extra period. J J Harland was all over the ice for Wingham, as he racked up two goals in the win. Harland scored on the power play at 7:57 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 14:25 into the third to make the score 3-3. The Ironmen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Wingham kept Kincardine's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitch Campbell made 34 saves on 38 shots. Wingham also got points from Kerr, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Alex Kuntz, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Wingham were Ryan McNeil, who had two and Carter Strachan, Brett Brophy, Keifer MacInnes, and Matt McCracken, who each chipped in one. The Bulldogs were helped by Patrick Wiejak, who registered one goal. Wiejak scored short handed 9:33 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Kincardine. A slashing call on Matthew Mah put Kincardine on the penalty kill. Brycin Morrison provided the assist. Others who scored for Kincardine included Dalton Hnatko and Derrick Bernath, who each put in one. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Jordan Bell, Brady Richards, and Shawn Moore, who contributed one each. Ben Nelson made 22 saves for the Ironmen on 25 shots. Wingham incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
