Huge game by Jacklin boosts Wingham over Hanover, 6-3P and H Centre Sat, Dec 27, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Wingham Ironmen's Justin Jacklin had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over the Hanover Barons. Jacklin scored at 7:39 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Wingham and again while on the power play 12:16 into the third to make the score 6-2 Wingham.Wingham forced Hanover's goaltenders to work in net, getting 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Cody Van der Heide made 24 stops and Gord Walmsley made 12. The Ironmen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Wingham additionally got points from Darren Kerr, who also registered one goal and two assists and Brett Brophy, who also finished with one goal and two assists. J J Harland also scored for Wingham. More assists for Wingham came via Alex Kuntz, who had two and Matt McCracken and Jeremy Ross, who contributed one each. The Barons kept Wingham's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jaden Shrier made 35 saves on 38 shots. Hanover got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. The Barons were helped by Colton Culbert, who grabbed one goal. Culbert scored 6:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Wingham. Brad Pitt provided the assist. Hanover also got points from Kurt Ruhl, who also had one goal and one assist and Brodie Lemay, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Hanover received assists from Garrett Weigel, who had one and Greg Buchanan, who had two. The Ironmen incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hanover incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
