The Mitchell Hawks tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Kincardine Bulldogs would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Kincardine made the score 3-1 on a goal by Shawn Moore at 34 seconds in the third period, and Mitchell got as close as 3-2 when Scott Fries scored 18:27 into the third period. Moore had two goals to lead the Bulldogs to victory. Kincardine stifled the Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Luke Czuczman also scored for Kincardine. Other players who recorded assists for Kincardine were Jordan Van Haelemeesch, Mike Smailes, and Matthew Mah, who each chipped in one. Mitchell got its opportunities on the power play, but did not convert any of its nine chances. The Hawks were helped by Adam Zehr, who registered one goal. Zehr scored 1:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mitchell. Bayley Boyes picked up the assist. In addition, Mitchell received assists from Ethan Adair and Josh Den Otter, who contributed one each. Mitch Campbell made 26 saves for the Bulldogs on 28 shots. Kincardine incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Bulldogs, Sam Feagan was ejected from the game. Clay Carter recorded 22 saves for Mitchell. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
