Kincardine rides Campbell to victory over Mount Forest, 4-1

The Kincardine Bulldogs relied on the sparkling performance of Mitch Campbell in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Mount Forest Patriots.

Kincardine pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 33 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs were led by Shawn Moore, who registered one goal. Moore scored 14:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kincardine. Mike Smailes assisted on the tally.

Kincardine stifled Mount Forest's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulldogs forced the Patriots goalie Cole Wardlaw to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Others who scored for Kincardine included Chad Simpson, Jordan Van Haelemeesch, and Luke Czuczman, who scored one goal each. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Mike Osadca, who had two and Derrick Bernath, Patrick Wiejak, and Matthew Mah, who each chipped in one.

Mount Forest's offense operated below its season average. The Patriots put an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game.

Mount Forest was led by Josh Perdue, who scored the team's only goal. Perdue scored 7:10 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brendon Aitken picked up the assist.

Kincardine's Campbell stopped 27 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Bulldogs registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Kincardine ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Alex Labrosse was ejected from the game. Wardlaw recorded 31 saves for the Patriots. Mount Forest totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-8 on the power play. For the Patriots, Doug Ardis was ejected from the game.
