Hanover downs Goderich in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Jarrett Kuntz gave the Hanover Barons a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Goderich Flyers when he scored 1:32 into the extra period.

Hanover got the win behind a great game by Kuntz, who had two goals and one assist. Kuntz scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 5:33 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Hanover. The Barons had taken the advantage when Goderich's Brandon Priestap got sent off for slashing. Tyson Soers picked up the assist. Kuntz's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Hanover with 18:28 left in overtime. Soers provided the assist.

Hanover pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

The Barons forced Flyers' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 43 shots and forcing 40 saves. Nathan Watson made 12 stops and Pat Do made 28.

Hanover additionally got points from Soers, who also tallied one goal and two assists. More assists for Hanover came via Justin D Graham, who had one.

The Flyers kept Hanover's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cody Van der Heide made 32 saves on 34 shots.

Goderich was helped by Adam Cousins, who had one goal. Cousins scored on the power play 6:38 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Goderich. The Flyers had gotten the advantage when the Barons' Brodie Lemay was sent off for goalie interference. Joseph Dykstra assisted on the tally. Goderich also got a goal from Nick Gowing as well. Other players who recorded assists for Goderich were Curtis Taylor and Marcel Fohkens, who each chipped in one.

Hanover registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For the Barons, Maxwell Barclay was ejected from the game. Goderich incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
