Jarrett Kuntz had two goals and two assists to lead the Hanover Barons to a 7-2 victory over the Mitchell Hawks. Kuntz scored on the power play at 8:55 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Hanover and again while on the power play 13:03 into the second to make the score 4-1 Hanover.Mitchell was doomed by its poor performance on special teams, as Hanover was able to score four times while on the power play. The Barons forced the Hawks goalie Keaton Weiss to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Hanover's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Barons average 4.1 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals. Hanover additionally got points from Colton Culbert, who also had one goal and two assists, Lukas Heathers, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Garrett Reed, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Hanover also had goals scored by Kyler Jones and Lucas Johnson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Hanover were Devin Perdue(AP), who had one and Tyson Soers and Cole Leslie, who each chipped in two. Mitchell was led by Josh Den Otter, who registered one goal. Den Otter scored on the power play 5:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mitchell. The Hawks earned a power play opportunity when Johnson was put in the box for slashing. Bayley Boyes provided the assist. Kyle Spence also scored for Mitchell. In addition, Mitchell received assists from McKenzie Carter, Wil Marcy, and Colton Drinkwalter, who contributed one each. Cody Van der Heide made 28 saves for Hanover on 30 shots. The Barons incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Weiss recorded 34 saves for Mitchell. The Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Mitchell ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Adam Zehr was ejected from the game.
