Huge game by Morrison boosts Kincardine over Mount Forest, 7-3

Brycin Morrison had two goals and one assist to lead the Kincardine Bulldogs to a 7-3 victory over the Mount Forest Patriots.

Morrison found the back of the net 16:10 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Kincardine and again while 2:10 into the third to make the score 5-3 Kincardine.

Kincardine forced Mount Forest's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 40 shots and forcing 33 saves. Cole Wardlaw made 12 stops and John Nixon made 21. The Bulldogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Patriots to score on any of their three power plays. Kincardine bested its season scoring average. The Bulldogs have scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kincardine additionally got points from Brady Richards, who also registered one goal and one assist, Shawn Moore, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Luke Czuczman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Sam Feagan, who also had one goal and two assists. Kincardine also got a goal from Mike Osadca as well. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Mike Smailes and Derrick Bernath, who contributed one each and Collin Whitfield and Patrick Wiejak, who each chipped in two.

Mount Forest was helped by Brendon Aitken, who registered one goal. Aitken scored 17:00 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Cody Wright provided the assist. Mount Forest also had goals scored by Doug Ardis and Luke Richardson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Mount Forest came via Doug Costanzo, Shawn Lantz, Todd Greer, and Trevor Hughson, who contributed one each.

Mitch Campbell recorded 19 saves for Kincardine. The Bulldogs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Patriots incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
