Wingham beats Mitchell 6-2 as Lansink gets hat trick

A hat trick by Holdyn Lansink was the highlight in Ironmen's 6-2 win against the Mitchell Hawks.

Lansink's first goal came 5:59 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:10 into the first and at 13:56 into the third.

The Wingham Ironmen led 5-1 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

Wingham's penalty kill excelled, as the Ironmen gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

Wingham also got points from Ryan McNeil, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Wingham included Brett Brophy and Matt McCracken, who each put in one. In addition, Wingham received assists from Jordan Skerrett, who had two, Alex Kuntz, who had three, and Connor Weishar and Greg Scott, who each chipped in one.

Ben Nelson made 20 saves for Wingham on 22 shots. The Ironmen incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mitchell's starting goalie, Clay Carter, made nine saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Keaton Weiss, who stopped 15 shots. The Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
