Walkerton downs Kincardine, 3-1

Ryan Hamelin tallied one point to lead the Walkerton Hawks to a 3-1 victory over the Kincardine Bulldogs.

Walkerton's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Kincardine power plays. The Hawks were held below their usual level of production. Walkerton averages 5.6 goals per game.

Others who scored for Walkerton included Jay Thomson and Matt Shields, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Walkerton were CJ Arthur, Chris Gillman, and Lauchlin Elder, who each chipped in one.

Kincardine stifled the Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The Bulldogs were led by John Woolsey, who scored the team's only goal. Woolsey scored 16:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Walkerton. Jordan Van Haelemeesch provided the assist.

Tristan Lewis made 20 saves for Walkerton on 21 shots. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Mitch Campbell rejected 23 shots on goal for Kincardine. The Bulldogs ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For Kincardine, Chad Simpson was ejected from the game.
