Wingham downs Mount Forest in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Wingham Ironmen's Justin Jacklin scored 1:57 into overtime to beat the Mount Forest Patriots, 5-4 (OT).

Alex Kuntz had one goal and three assists to lead Wingham. Kuntz scored 17:12 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Jacklin assisted on the tally.

The Ironmen kept Mount Forest's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Wardlaw made 49 saves on 54 shots.

Wingham also got points from Jacklin, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Holdyn Lansink also scored for Wingham.

The Patriots' offense rang up 37 shots on Wingham's net.

Mount Forest was helped by Cody Wright, who tallied one goal. Wright scored 7:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Mount Forest. Mitch Betts picked up the assist. Mount Forest additionally got points from Doug Ardis, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Luke Richardson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mount Forest also got a goal from Shawn Lantz as well. More assists for Mount Forest came via Trevor Hughson, who had one.

Ben Nelson recorded 33 saves for the Ironmen. Wingham incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Patriots incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
