Calvin Penney was all over the ice for the Walkerton Hawks, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Walkerton's 4-1 win over the Mitchell Hawks. Penney's tallies came on the power play at 1:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Walkerton and 9:46 into the third to make the score 3-1 Walkerton.The Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Walkerton's offense rang up 35 shots on Mitchell's net. Walkerton additionally got points from Brandon Lamothe, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Walkerton also got a goal from John McCrae as well. More assists for Walkerton came via Brooks Nelthorpe, who had two and Alex Perrault and Brendan Welsh, who each chipped in one. The Hawks struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 38 penalty minutes for nine opposing power plays. Mitchell was led by Josh Den Otter, who scored the team's only goal. Den Otter scored 14:30 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Walkerton. Scott Fries provided the assist. Tristan Lewis made 14 saves for the Hawks on 15 shots. Walkerton incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Keaton Weiss recorded 31 saves for the Hawks.
