Lewis stymies Mitchell, Walkerton wins 7-1Mitchell Arena Sun, Sep 14, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Walkerton Hawks relied on the sparkling performance of Tristan Lewis in net to grab a 7-1 win against the Mitchell Hawks. Walkerton was led by Brandon Lamothe, who registered one goal. Lamothe scored 5:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Walkerton. Calvin Penney picked up the assist. Mitchell was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Walkerton eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Walkerton also got points from Josh Deyell, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Ryan Hamelin, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Brett Coulson, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Tyler Cunningham, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Walkerton also got a goal from CJ Arthur as well. In addition, Walkerton received assists from Jay Thomson, who had two and Mitch Borden, Brooks Nelthorpe, Lauchlin Elder, and Skylar Robertson, who each chipped in one. The Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Walkerton power plays. Mitchell could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Hawks put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Mitchell forced the Hawks goalie Lewis to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Hawks were led by Jerry Ennet, who scored the team's only goal. Ennet scored on the power play 11:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mitchell. Mitchell earned a power play opportunity when Lamothe was put in the box for unsportsmanlike conduct. Greg Orr assisted on the tally. Lewis rejected 32 shots on goal for Walkerton. The Hawks incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Clay Carter recorded 26 saves for the Hawks. Mitchell incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
