Nelson leads Wingham to shutout victory over KincardineWestern Jr. C Sat, Sep 13, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Ben Nelson made 30 saves to complete the shutout and led the Wingham Ironmen to a 1-0 win against the Kincardine Bulldogs. Justin Jacklin's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 16:26 in the third period. Jordan Skerrett picked up the assist. Wingham was led by Jacklin, who racked up one goal. The Ironmen's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kincardine power plays. Wingham was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Ironmen allow 3.0 goals per game. Kincardine did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering just one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Wingham incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Bulldogs' Mitch Campbell stopped 29 shots out of the 30 that he faced.
