Tavistock rips Delhi, 7-3

The Delhi Travellers had trouble finding ways to stop the Tavistock Braves, which beat Travellers, 7-3.

Tavistock got the win thanks to a great game by Derek Cowing, who had one goal and two assists. Cowing scored 11:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock. Mackenzie Sealy picked up the assist.

The Braves forced Delhi goalie Patrick Tanner to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Tavistock outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Braves average 2.9 goals per contest. Tavistock's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Tavistock additionally got points from Braedon Hancock, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Jordan Ritsma, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Josh Hill AP, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Tavistock also got a goal from Jamie Shoemaker as well. More assists for Tavistock came via Angus Rowland, who had one, Jake Wiffen, who had three, and Liam Kelly and Jordie Schneider, who contributed two each.

The Travellers' offense rang up 31 shots on the Braves' net.

Delhi was helped by Ryan MacLeod, who finished with one goal. MacLeod scored on the power play 12:54 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Tavistock. The Travellers had taken the advantage when Tavistock's Hill AP got sent off for tripping. Chris Spinello assisted on the tally. Delhi also had goals scored by John Williams and Taylor Hockley, who scored one goal each. In addition, Delhi received assists from Colin Van Daele, who had two and Nevin Guenther and Steve Barati, who each chipped in one.

Ben Larder recorded 28 saves for the Braves. Tavistock incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Patrick Tanner made 30 saves for Delhi on 37 shots. The Travellers totaled 35 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Team's Guenther and Kelsey Van Ymeren were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
