Paris holds on for 4-2 win against Wellesley

The Wellesley Applejacks tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Paris Mounties would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

A goal by Scott Sippel put Paris up 4-1 in the third period, but Wellesley pulled to within two on Taylor Doering's tally 19:50 into the third period.

The Mounties got the win behind a great game by Austin Sine, who had one goal and two assists. Sine scored on the power play 7:49 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Paris. Paris earned a power play opportunity when Jake Wilkinson was put in the box for cross checking. Brady Wheelans provided the assist.

The Mounties kept the Applejacks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Keaton Weiss made 40 saves on 44 shots. Paris capitalized on Wellesley's penalties, netting three goals while skating with a man advantage.

Paris also had goals scored by Ryan Stephenson and Tyler Arsenault, who each put in one. More assists for Paris came via Andrew Heibein, Brett Wilson, and Merrit Crumback, who contributed one each.

The Applejacks were helped by Alex Uttley, who registered one goal. Uttley scored 1:32 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wellesley. Tyler Seguin picked up the assist. Wellesley also got points from Doering, who also grabbed one goal and one assist.

Davis McLean made 23 saves for the Mounties on 25 shots. Paris incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Wellesley totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For the Applejacks, Wilkinson was ejected from the game.
