Swindells leads Woodstock to shutout victory over Delhi

The Woodstock Navy Vets used a sparkling performance by Jackson Swindells to take down the Delhi Travellers, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Woodstock's 7-0 shutout victory.

The Navy Vets were led by Austin Richardson, who had one goal. Richardson scored 12:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Woodstock. Taylor DeClercq assisted on the tally.

Woodstock forced Delhi's goaltenders to work between the pipes, racking up 43 shots and forcing 36 saves. Patrick Tanner made 18 stops and Mike Harrison made 18. The Navy Vets excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Woodstock's defense was surprisingly good. The Navy Vets gives up 2.6 goals on average per game. Woodstock bested its season scoring average. The Navy Vets average 3.6 goals per game.

Woodstock additionally got points from Chris Nauts, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Woodstock included Dylan Wettlaufer, who had two and Michael Nutt, Braden Hutchison, and Ricky Johnston, who each put in one. In addition, Woodstock received assists from Mackenzie Langford, Jeremy Racicot, and Jake Schneider, who each chipped in one.

Woodstock's Swindells stopped 27 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Navy Vets incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Travellers incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
