Paris pulls away in second, rolls over Delhi, 9-0

The Paris Mounties used a six-goal second period to put away the Delhi Travellers, 9-0.

Scott Sippel had one goal and three assists to lead Paris. Sippel scored 17:55 into the second period to make the score 6-0 Paris. Nick Mercier provided the assist.

The Mounties forced Travellers' goaltenders to work without much rest, racking up 44 shots and forcing 35 saves. Patrick Tanner made 22 stops and Mike Harrison made 13. Paris' defense was surprisingly good. The Mounties allow 2.9 goals per game. Paris outdid its season average for goals scored. The Mounties have scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Paris also got points from Brian Mueller, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Brodie Smith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Alex Ritchie also scored for Paris. More assists for Paris came via Brady Wheelans, who had two, Merrit Crumback, who had three, and Zack Skubnik, Andrew Heibein, and Zach Taylor, who contributed one each.

Delhi's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Paris power plays.

Paris' Zach Shomphe stopped 23 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Mounties incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Travellers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
