Woodstock downs Burford in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Woodstock Navy Vets pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Burford Bulldogs on a clutch goal by Dylan Wettlaufer.

Woodstock was led by goalie Jackson Swindells, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Swindells managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.33 prior to the game.

The Navy Vets were led by Wettlaufer, who had one goal. Wettlaufer scored 1:28 into overtime to make the score 2-1 Woodstock.

Woodstock put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Burford to score on any of its four power plays. The Navy Vets kept the Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Riley Edwards made 34 saves on 36 shots.

Woodstock also got a goal from Austin Richardson as well. In addition, Woodstock received assists from Chris Nauts and Mike Gillespie, who each chipped in one.

Burford could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Bulldogs put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Burford could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Bulldogs were led by Broidy Rondelet, who scored the team's only goal. Rondelet scored 31 seconds into the third period to make the score 1-0 Burford. Mitch Randell picked up the assist.

Woodstock incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
