Paris downs Tavistock in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Tavistock Fri, Jan 02, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Merrit Crumback gave the Paris Mounties a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Tavistock Braves when he scored 1:48 into the extra period. Paris' penalty kill excelled, as the Mounties gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 5:29 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts. Paris was led by Clayton Chalmers, who had two goals. Chalmers scored the first of his two goals at 14:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brodie Smith picked up the assist. Chalmers' next tally made the score 2-1 Paris with 8:07 left in the second period. Smith provided the assist. Paris also got a goal from Brady Wheelans as well. In addition, Paris received assists from Mitchell Harvey and Zack Skubnik, who each chipped in one. Tavistock excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Braves kept the Mounties' goalie busy throughout the game, and Zach Shomphe made 33 saves on 36 shots. Tavistock was led by Jake Wiffen, who finished with two goals. Wiffen scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock. The Braves had taken the advantage when Paris' Andrew Heibein got sent off for delay of game. Jamie Shoemaker picked up the assist. Wiffen's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Tavistock with 4:38 left in the second period. Liam Kelly assisted on the tally. Josh Den Otter also scored for Tavistock. More assists for Tavistock came via Mackenzie Sealy, who had one. The Mounties ended with 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors and two majors. Paris ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jacob Norcott was ejected from the game. Tavistock's Ben Larder stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Braves ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major. For Tavistock, Andrew Bogdon was ejected from the game.
