Woodstock falls to Paris in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Jacob Norcott gave the Paris Mounties a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Woodstock Navy Vets when he scored 2:16 into the extra period.

Although Paris was up by as many as three goals in the first period, Woodstock kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Navy Vets got to within 3-2 on a goal by Ricky Johnston at 16:40 in the third period.

The Mounties were sparked by Norcott, who registered one goal.

Paris' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Woodstock power plays.

Paris also had goals scored by Brady Wheelans, Tyler Arsenault, and Garrett Kirby, who each put in one. More assists for Paris came via Mitchell Harvey, Brian Mueller, Brodie Smith, and Scott Sippel, who each chipped in one.

Woodstock was led by Dylan Wettlaufer, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Wettlaufer scored 6:57 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Paris. Taylor DeClercq assisted on the tally. Mike Gillespie also scored for Woodstock. In addition, Woodstock received assists from Justin Elms, who had two.

The Mounties' Davis McLean stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Paris incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Michael Roefs took the otl and made 25 saves before being replaced by Jackson Swindells who made zero saves. The Navy Vets ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Woodstock, Johnston was ejected from the game.
