Burford falls apart in second, loses to New Hamburg, 6-0Burford Community Centre Sat, Dec 20, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Burford Bulldogs was within striking distance after one period, but the New Hamburg Firebirds put the pedal down in the second en route to a 6-0 victory. New Hamburg's penalty kill excelled, as the Firebirds gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. New Hamburg was sparked by Colin Martin, who had one goal. New Hamburg additionally got points from Tyler Randerson, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Chris Eckert, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Brodie Muckler, who also racked up one goal and one assist. New Hamburg also had goals scored by Ben Playfair and Jaden Goetz, who scored one goal each. More assists for New Hamburg came via Jay Fried, Kory Nowak, Brandon Quan, Garrett Pollock, and Tyler Hoffman, who contributed one each. Burford did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Bulldogs put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Ryan Purcell rejected 24 shots on goal for the Firebirds. New Hamburg registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. For the Firebirds, Playfair was ejected from the game. Burford's Riley Edwards stopped 27 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Bulldogs ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Burford ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matt Dipaolo was ejected from the game. |
