Huge game by Pickering boosts Tavistock over Delhi, 7-3Tavistock Fri, Dec 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Shaun Pickering had one goal and two assists to lead the Tavistock Braves to a 7-3 victory over the Delhi Travellers. Pickering got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 18:47 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Delhi. Tavistock had gained a power play chance when Taylor Hockley was whistled for delay of game. Liam Kelly assisted on the tally. Pickering dished an assist on Matthew Lupton's goal that made the score 4-3 Tavistock at 3:19 into the third period. He added another helper on Maverick Petrie's goal that made the score 7-3 Tavistock at 19:24 into the third period.The Braves outdid their season average for goals scored. Tavistock averages 3.0 goals per game. Tavistock additionally got points from Greg Hansford, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Lupton, who also registered one goal and one assist, Petrie, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Andrew Bogdon, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Dylan Yantzi, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Tayler Trachsel also scored for Tavistock. In addition, Tavistock received assists from Angus Rowland, who had two and Jamie Shoemaker and Mackenzie Sealy, who contributed one each. Other players who recorded assists for Delhi were Jordan Betzold and Jarred Ebdon, who each chipped in one. Ben Larder made nine saves for Tavistock on 12 shots. The Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mike Harrison rejected 12 shots on goal for Delhi. The Travellers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Delhi ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and John Williams was ejected from the game.
