A stellar performance between the pipes by Davis McLean helped the Paris Mounties defeat the Norwich Merchants, 4-1. Paris was led by Brodie Smith, who registered one goal and one assist. Smith scored 13:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Paris. Alex Ritchie picked up the assist. The Mounties excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Paris also had goals scored by Brady Wheelans, Tye Calder, and Scott Sippel, who scored one goal each. More assists for Paris came via Mitchell Harvey, Jacob Norcott, and Brett Wilson, who each chipped in one. Norwich could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Merchants average 3.1 goals per game. Norwich forced Paris goalie McLean to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Merchants were led by Matt Zilke, who scored the team's only goal. Zilke scored 16:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brandon Velda provided the assist. The Mounties' McLean stopped 31 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Paris incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Justin Pacheco made 21 saves for Norwich on 25 shots. The Merchants incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
