Woodstock falls to Tavistock in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Jamie Shoemaker gave the Tavistock Braves a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Woodstock Navy Vets when he scored 3:26 into the extra period.

Tavistock pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 27 penalty minutes.

Tavistock additionally got points from Liam Kelly, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Jake Wiffen, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Maverick Petrie also scored for Tavistock. More assists for Tavistock came via Jordan Ritsma and Angus Rowland, who contributed one each.

Woodstock's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Tavistock power plays. The Navy Vets kept the Braves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Larder made 39 saves on 42 shots.

Woodstock was led by Mike Gillespie, who racked up three goals. In addition, Woodstock received assists from Braden Hutchison, who had two and Justin Elms and Jeremy Racicot, who each chipped in one.

For Tavistock, Jordie Schneider was ejected from the game. Michael Roefs made 23 saves for the Navy Vets on 27 shots. Woodstock totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Navy Vets ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan MacDonald was ejected from the game.
