New Hamburg downs Paris in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Carter Tracey gave the New Hamburg Firebirds a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Paris Mounties when he scored 2:15 into the extra period.

New Hamburg came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Firebirds was down 2-0 after a goal by Paris' Brady Wheelans at 5:27 in the first period. New Hamburg knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Tyler Hoffman at 18:48 in the third period.

Tracey had two goals to lead the Firebirds to victory.

New Hamburg forced the Mounties goalie Zach Shomphe to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

New Hamburg also got a goal from Ben Playfair as well. More assists for New Hamburg came via Andrew Boer, who had two and Kory Nowak, Quinten Haddock, and Brandon Quan, who each chipped in one.

Paris' offense rang up 33 shots on the Firebirds' net.

Brett Wilson also scored for Paris. In addition, Paris received assists from Andrew Heibein, Brodie Smith, and Tyler Arsenault, who contributed one each.

New Hamburg's Ryan Purcell stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Firebirds totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For New Hamburg, Taylor Wood was ejected from the game. Zach Shomphe made 28 saves for the Mounties on 32 shots. Paris incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
