New Hamburg downs Paris, 5-1

Andrew Boer racked up one point to lead the New Hamburg Firebirds to a 5-1 victory over the Paris Mounties.

New Hamburg stifled Paris' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The defensemen of the Firebirds were also effective in the Mounties' zone, and came away with two goals.

New Hamburg additionally got points from Kory Nowak, who also registered one goal and one assist and Chris Eckert, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for New Hamburg included Anthony Osterling and Shawn Antonides, who scored one goal each. More assists for New Hamburg came via Nolan Blum, Taylor Wood, Brodie Muckler, Jaden Goetz, and Carter Tracey, who each chipped in one.

Paris was held below its usual level of production. The Mounties put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game.

Paris was led by Brett Wilson, who scored the team's only goal. Wilson scored 13:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. Brady Wheelans picked up the assist.

Ryan Purcell made 24 saves for New Hamburg on 25 shots. The Firebirds incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Zach Shomphe rejected 20 shots on goal for the Mounties. Paris incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
