Ayr downs Wellesley, 5-2

Jackson White had one point to lead the Ayr Centennials to a 5-2 victory over the Wellesley Applejacks.

Ayr's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Wellesley power plays. Wellesley was unable to stop the Centennials from sending pucks towards the net, and Ayr eventually piled up 44 shots on goal.

Ayr additionally got points from Brendan Schaefer, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ayr also had goals scored by Jake Whibbs, Eric Hackborn, and Colin Schuringa, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ayr received assists from Anthony Pullia, who had one and Andrew Richard, who had two.

The Applejacks racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and one major for 33 minutes in penalty time. Wellesley surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Applejacks were helped by Justin Plant, who racked up one goal. Plant scored 15:50 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Ayr. Paul Morra picked up the assist. Wellesley also got a goal from Coleton Madge as well. Other players who recorded assists for Wellesley were Reid Denstedt, Cal Jefferies, and Matt Schieck, who each chipped in one.

The Centennials' Will Rawski stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Ayr incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tim Bester rejected 39 shots on goal for Wellesley. For the Applejacks, Schieck was ejected from the game.
