Wellesley comes out on top against Paris in back-and-forth-game, 6-4Wellesley Fri, Nov 14, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Wellesley Applejacks beat the Paris Mounties 6-4 in a hard-fought contest that saw the lead change hands four times. Alex Uttley had a great game for Wellesley, netting two goals. Uttley found the back of the net 19:17 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Wellesley and again while on the power play 14:14 into the second to make the score 4-4. Paris was unable to stop the Applejacks from sending pucks towards the net, and Wellesley eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Applejacks found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Wellesley averages 3.1 goals per contest. The Applejacks took advantage of the Mounties' penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities. Wellesley also got points from Cal Jefferies, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Sean McEwan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Wellesley also had goals scored by Reid Denstedt and Matt Schieck, who each put in one. More assists for Wellesley came via Chris Beauchesne, who had two and Taylor Doering, Tyler Seguin, Parker Wood, Blake Hetherington, and Justin Lebold, who contributed one each. Paris' offense rang up 36 shots on Wellesley's net. The Mounties were helped by Gregg Tucci, who registered one goal. Tucci scored 5:13 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brett Banks picked up the assist. Others who scored for Paris included Mitchell Harvey, Brady Wheelans, and Clayton Chalmers, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Paris were Andrew Heibein, Richard Brooks, and Alex Daley, who each chipped in one. Tim Bester rejected 32 shots on goal for the Applejacks. Wellesley incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Zach Shomphe made 28 saves for Paris on 34 shots. The Mounties incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For Paris, Heibein was ejected from the game.
