Paris' Smith deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Delhi

Brodie Smith was all over the ice for the Paris Mounties, as he tallied two goals in Paris' 4-1 win over the Delhi Travellers.

Smith found the back of the net 15:15 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Paris and again while 19:25 into the first to make the score 3-1 Paris.

The Mounties put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Delhi to score on any of its five power plays. Paris forced the Travellers goalie Patrick Tanner to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

Paris additionally got points from Brady Wheelans, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Zach Taylor, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Paris received assists from Mitchell Harvey, Gregg Tucci, Scott Sippel, and Alex Daley, who each chipped in one.

Delhi's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Paris power plays.

The Travellers were led by Austin Hentz, who scored the team's only goal. Hentz scored 6:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nevin Guenther picked up the assist.

The Mounties' Zach Shomphe stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Paris incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Patrick Tanner made 41 saves for Delhi on 45 shots. The Travellers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
