The Tavistock Braves relied on the scoring touch of Jared Yantzi, who netted two goals, to beat the Delhi Travellers, 5-1. Yantzi found the back of the net on the power play 59 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tavistock and again while on the power play 1:30 into the first to make the score 2-0 Tavistock.Tavistock's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays. Tavistock stifled Delhi's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Braves' offense rang up 36 shots on the Travellers' net. Tavistock bested its season scoring average. The Braves have scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Tavistock could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game. Tavistock additionally got points from Greg Hansford, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Derek Cowing, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Maverick Petrie, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Tavistock were Shaun Pickering, Andrew Bogdon, and Tayler Trachsel, who contributed one each. Delhi's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Travellers finished with 32 penalty minutes. Ben Larder recorded 23 saves for the Braves. Tavistock registered three goals on 10 power play opportunities. Delhi's Nick Heath stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced.
