Burford completes comeback, beats Paris, 3-2Burford Community Centre Sat, Oct 18, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Paris Mounties could not hold down the Burford Bulldogs, and Bulldogs erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 3-2 win. Burford never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Bulldogs fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Paris' Brodie Smith at 8:31 in the second period. Burford knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Tyler Hinde at 4:56 in the third period. The Bulldogs scored the game winner at 15:12 in the third period on a goal by Hinde. Burford's penalty kill excelled, as the Bulldogs gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Burford stifled the Mounties' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bulldogs were helped by Chris Grand, who had one goal. Burford additionally got points from Kolby Francis, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Burford received assists from Matt Dipaolo AP and Kyle Walker, who each chipped in one. Paris' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Burford power plays. Burford was unable to stop the Mounties from sending pucks towards the net, and Paris eventually piled up 49 shots on goal. Paris also got points from Clayton Chalmers, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Paris were Brady Wheelans, who had two. Michael Black recorded 47 saves for the Bulldogs. Burford incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Mounties' Zach Shomphe stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Paris incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Team's Mitchell Harvey and Garrett Kirby were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
