Norwich rolls over Delhi, 9-0

The Norwich Merchants were firing on all cylinders against the Delhi Travellers, and when the final buzzer sounded Merchants emerged with a 9-0 win.

Norwich's penalty kill excelled, as the Merchants gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Norwich was paced by Riley Monture, who had one goal. Monture scored 1:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Norwich. Kurtis Lavis provided the assist.

The Merchants stifled Delhi's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Norwich forced the Travellers goalie Patrick Tanner to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. The Merchants found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Norwich averages 3.0 goals per contest. The Merchants got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Norwich additionally got points from Mitchell Berzins, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Brandon Velda, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Zack Morrison, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Norwich included Derek Slaght, who had two and Jordan Gillis, Troy Lamoure, and Darcey Butler, who each put in one. In addition, Norwich received assists from Justin Pacheco, Austin Sloot, Matt Zilke, and Drake Morrell, who each chipped in one.

Justin Pacheco made 20 saves for Norwich on 20 shots. The Merchants incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Tanner rejected 35 shots on goal for Delhi. The Travellers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
