Schaefer's hat trick boosts Ayr over Delhi, 9-0

A hat trick by Brendan Schaefer was the highlight in Centennials' 9-0 win against the Delhi Travellers.

Schaefer got on the scoresheet 17:07 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:15 into the second and at 17:34 into the second.

The Ayr Centennials forced Delhi's goaltenders to work in net, finishing with 48 shots and forcing 39 saves. Patrick Tanner made 32 stops and Nick Heath made seven. Ayr outdid its season average for goals scored. The Centennials have scored at the pace of 6.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

Ayr additionally got points from Carver Ormiston, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Jordan Pettitt, who also had one goal and one assist. Ayr also had goals scored by Jeff Howlett, who had two and Austin Sine and Sean Mitchell, who each put in one. In addition, Ayr received assists from Anthony Pullia, who had three, Jake Whibbs, Riley Clipper, Austin Kovrig, and Logan Beechey, who contributed one each, and Mackenzie Kemp, Eric Hackborn, Andrew Richard, and Colin Schuringa, who each chipped in two.

Ayr's Will Rawski stopped 16 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Centennials incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Travellers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
