Paris falls to Woodstock in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Woodstock Navy Vets' Dylan Wettlaufer scored 19:40 into overtime to beat the Paris Mounties, 3-2 (OT).

With two goals and one assist between them, Wettlaufer and Mackenzie Langford teamed up to power Woodstock's offense. Wettlaufer racked up two goals and one assist and Langford also added one goal.

Paris was unable to stop the Navy Vets from sending pucks towards the net, and Woodstock eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Austin Richardson also scored for Woodstock. Other players who recorded assists for Woodstock were Mike Gillespie and Max Coyle, who contributed one each.

The Mounties' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Woodstock power plays. Paris could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Mounties average 4.3 goals per game.

Paris was helped by Merrit Crumback, who tallied one goal. Crumback scored on the power play 14:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. A spearing penalty on Richardson had put the Mounties on the power play. Garrett Kirby assisted on the tally. Paris also got a goal from Brady Wheelans as well. In addition, Paris received assists from Brodie Smith, who had one and Connor Purbick AP, who had two.

The Navy Vets' Michael Roefs stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Woodstock incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Zach Shompe recorded 34 saves for Paris. The Mounties incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Paris ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Tye Calder was ejected from the game.
