Hartholt nets hat trick, leads Burford to 7-3 win over Delhi

The Delhi Travellers could not stop the Burford Bulldogs' Luc Hartholt, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-3 win.

Hartholt notched his first tally 53 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 14:38 into the second and at 18:17 into the third.

Burford led by only one goal at the end of the first period, but put the game away by scoring four goals in the second.

The Bulldogs forced Delhi goalie Nick Heath to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Burford's goal total was higher than its season average. The Bulldogs average 4.2 goals per game.

Burford additionally got points from Connor Merritt, who also tallied two goals and two assists and Jack Battaglia, who also registered one goal and one assist. Burford also got a goal from Mitch Randell as well. More assists for Burford came via Brandon Cain, who had two and Chris Grand, Sam MacPherson, Kyle Walker, Jesse Brooks, Owen Hinch, Kolby Francis, and Quinn Stefanelli, who contributed one each.

The Travellers' offense rang up 33 shots on Burford's net.

Delhi was helped by M.J. Barnes, who had one goal. Barnes scored 19:20 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Burford. Taylor Hockley picked up the assist. Delhi also got points from Colin Van Daele, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Nevin Guenther also scored for Delhi. In addition, Delhi received assists from Tyler Zatylny, who had one and Justin Plant, who had two.

Riley Edwards rejected 30 shots on goal for the Bulldogs. Burford incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Heath recorded 34 saves for the Travellers. Delhi incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
