Ryan Purcell made 32 saves to complete the shutout and led the New Hamburg Firebirds to a 6-0 win against the Norwich Merchants.

New Hamburg was led by Taylor Wood, who finished with one goal and one assist. Wood scored 3:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New Hamburg. Colin Martin provided the assist.

The Firebirds forced Norwich's goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Patrick Maziarz made 12 stops and Justin Pacheco made 21. New Hamburg stifled the Merchants' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

New Hamburg additionally got points from Carter Tracey, who also tallied one goal and one assist. New Hamburg also had goals scored by Kory Nowak, Anthony Osterling, David Jennings, and Andrew Boer, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for New Hamburg were Chris Eckert, who had two and Jay Fried, Ben Playfair, Quinten Haddock, Shawn Antonides, and Tyler Hoffman, who each chipped in one.

Norwich's offense rang up 32 shots on the Firebirds' net.

New Hamburg incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Merchants incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
