McLean leads Paris to shutout victory over BurfordBrant Sports Complex Sun, Sep 28, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Davis McLean recorded a shutout against the Burford Bulldogs as the Paris Mounties picked up a 6-0 win. Burford fell victim to a deadly Paris power play, which ripped the Bulldogs for five goals. The Mounties excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Paris was helped by Richard Brooks, who finished with one goal. Brooks scored on the power play 7:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. The Mounties had gotten the advantage when Burford's Quinn Stefanelli was sent off for holding. Paris additionally got points from Brady Wheelans, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Brett Wilson, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Paris also had goals scored by Merrit Crumback, Scott Sippel, and Austin Cox, who each put in one. In addition, Paris received assists from Brett Banks and Brodie Smith, who contributed one each and Gregg Tucci and Garrett Kirby, who each chipped in two. The Bulldogs did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Burford puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Bulldogs' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Burford finished with 66 penalty minutes. McLean recorded 28 saves for Paris. The Mounties ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major. Paris ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brooks was ejected from the game. Michael Black took the loss and made 16 saves before being replaced by Riley Edwards who made seven saves. Team's Chris Grand, Kolby Francis, and Adam Harris were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
