Tracey nets hat trick, leads New Hamburg to 6-4 win over Woodstock

Carter Tracey lifted the New Hamburg Firebirds to a 6-4 victory with a hat trick against the Woodstock Navy Vets.

Tracey's first goal came 16:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:24 into the third and at 15:31 into the third.

New Hamburg forced Woodstock goalie Jackson Swindells to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

New Hamburg also got points from Kyle Mohr, who also racked up one goal and two assists and David Jennings, who also had two goals and two assists. More assists for New Hamburg came via Brandon Quan, who had two and Jay Fried, Ben Playfair, Chris Eckert, and Andrew Boer, who contributed one each.

The Navy Vets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four New Hamburg power plays.

Woodstock was helped by Chris Jensen (AP), who finished with one goal. Jensen (AP) scored 13:56 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Woodstock additionally got points from Justin Elms, who also registered one goal and one assist and Jake Schneider, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Woodstock also got a goal from Austin Richardson as well. In addition, Woodstock received assists from Nathan Innes, who had two and Mackenzie Langford and Matt Jauernig, who each chipped in one.

Nick Trask made 19 saves for the Firebirds on 23 shots. New Hamburg incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Swindells rejected 39 shots on goal for the Navy Vets. Woodstock incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
