Black stymies Woodstock, Burford wins 3-1

Michael Black had a standout game with 31 saves, and the Burford Bulldogs beat the Woodstock Navy Vets 3-1.

Burford was paced by Adam Harris, who racked up one goal. Harris scored on the power play 5:15 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Burford. A roughing after whistle penalty on Braden Hutchison had put the Bulldogs on the power play. Chris Grand assisted on the tally.

Burford's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Woodstock power plays.

Burford also got points from Grand, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Burford also got a goal from Luc Hartholt as well. Other players who recorded assists for Burford were Jack Battaglia, who had one.

Woodstock's offense rang up 32 shots on the Bulldogs' net.

The Navy Vets were led by Dylan Wettlaufer, who scored the team's only goal. Wettlaufer scored 6:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mike Gillespie picked up the assist.

Burford incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Bulldogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Broidy Rondelet was ejected from the game. Woodstock's Jackson Swindells stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Navy Vets incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
