Ayr rips Delhi, 6-2Delhi Community Centre Fri, Sep 19, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Ayr Centennials were firing on all cylinders against the Delhi Travellers, and when the final buzzer sounded Centennials emerged with a 6-2 win. Ayr pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes. The Centennials were sparked by Logan Beechey, who tallied one goal. Beechey scored 2:46 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Ayr. Brendan Schaefer assisted on the tally. Ayr's offense rang up 39 shots on Delhi's net. Ayr also got points from Jackson White, who also had one goal and one assist and Anthony Pullia, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Ayr included Jeff Howlett, Jordan Pettitt, and Colin Schuringa, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ayr received assists from Austin Kovrig, Josh Woznica AP, Carver Ormiston, Sean Mitchell, and Alex Uttley, who contributed one each. The Travellers were helped by Ryan MacLeod, who racked up one goal. MacLeod scored short handed 9:23 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Ayr. Delhi found itself down a man on Matt Jakubowski's holding. Delhi also got a goal from Nevin Guenther as well. Other players who recorded assists for Delhi were Steve Barati and Austin Hentz, who each chipped in one. Will Rawski rejected 16 shots on goal for the Centennials. Ayr registered three goals on nine power play opportunities. The Travellers' Nick Heath stopped 33 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Delhi incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
