Huge game by ODonnell boosts Alliston over Midland, 6-2

Behind a great game by Mark ODonnell, who had one goal and two assists, the Alliston Hornets defeated the Midland Flyers, 6-2.

ODonnell got on the board by slotting home a goal 16:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Alliston. Matt Taylor picked up the assist. ODonnell dished an assist on Tanner Dockerty's goal that made the score 5-2 Alliston at 6:22 into the third period. He added another helper on Steve Griggs's goal that made the score 6-2 Alliston at 15:34 into the third period.

Midland was unable to stop Alliston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hornets eventually piled up 65 shots on goal.

Alliston also got points from Jamie Bennett, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Matt Hamilton also scored for Alliston. In addition, Alliston received assists from Nic Archibald, who had three and Connor Annett, Jacob Tuck, and Andrew Ceolin, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers were helped by Tyler Simmons, who racked up one goal. Simmons scored 5:02 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Alliston. Curtis Rawn provided the assist. Midland also got a goal from Steven Pickard as well. More assists for Midland came via Evan Buehler and Ben Skuce, who contributed one each.

Alliston's starting goalie, TJ Sherwood, made 15 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Sean Caufield, who stopped zero shots. The Hornets avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of five power plays. Midland's Matt Camilleri stopped 59 shots out of the 65 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities.
