Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Huntsville Otters defeated the Orillia Terriers in a shootout 3-2 (2-0 SO). The shootout featured four attempts between both teams. Huntsville also got a shootout goal from Josh Zantingh.The Otters overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Huntsville was down 2-1 after a power play goal by Orillia's Jason Binnie at 15:59 in the second period. The Otters tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Jake McIntyre at 15:17 in the third period. Huntsville's offense rang up 41 shots on the Terriers' net. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Riley Vogels, Dalton Mceachran, Jamie Halnan, and Myles York, who each chipped in one. Orillia stifled the Otters' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. More assists for Orillia came via Andrew Windrem, Jacob Beard, Denny Benson, and Kyle Taylor, who contributed one each. Connor Christianson rejected 21 shots on goal for Huntsville. The Otters incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Noah Leis made 38 saves for the Terriers on 40 shots. Orillia incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
