Jake Norton made 33 saves to complete the shutout and led the Midland Flyers to a 2-0 win against the Penetang Kings.

Penetang's power play was ineffective against Midland's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Flyers were paced by Jake Evans, who grabbed one goal. Evans scored on the power play 3:39 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Midland. Midland had gained a power play chance when Nate Archer was whistled for too many men. Bobby Logan assisted on the tally.

The Flyers stifled the Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Midland forced Penetang goalie Adam Redgate to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Flyers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Evan Buehler also scored for Midland. More assists for Midland came via Corey DeRose, who had one.

The Kings could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Penetang puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. The Kings' offense rang up 33 shots on Midland's net.

The Flyers registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Penetang's Redgate stopped 32 shots out of the 33 that he faced. The Kings incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
