The Schomberg Cougars tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Alliston Hornets would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 7-5. Alliston made the score 7-4 on a goal by Tanner Dockerty at 6:24 in the third period, and Schomberg got as close as 7-5 when JP Crescenzi scored 15:35 into the third period. The Hornets got the win behind a great game by Nic Archibald, who had two goals and one assist. Archibald scored the first of his two goals at 8:15 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Zack Byblow picked up the assist. Archibald's next tally made the score 6-4 Alliston with 15:46 left in the third period. Andrew Ceolin provided the assist. Alliston's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Hornets are averaging 2.3 goals against for the season. Team could not crack the Cougars' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 11 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Alliston additionally got points from Dockerty, who also racked up two goals and one assist. Alliston also got a goal from Jamie Bennett as well. Other players who recorded assists for Alliston were Jacob Tuck and Matt Hamilton, who each chipped in one and Gianluca Pallotta and Mark ODonnell, who contributed two each. Schomberg forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 11 minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. The Cougars had been averaging 32.0 minutes in penalties per game. Schomberg was led by Ryley Egerton, who tallied two goals. Egerton scored the first of his two goals at 10:59 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Schomberg. Declan Lampe picked up the assist. Egerton's next tally made the score 3-2 Schomberg with 18:30 left in the second period. Schomberg also had goals scored by John Gage and Justin Formenton, who each put in one. In addition, Schomberg received assists from Joseph Mete, Matthew Hudgin, Blake Culley, and Brandon Yorke, who each chipped in one. TJ Sherwood rejected 12 shots on goal for Alliston. The Hornets incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. For Alliston, Joe Cochrane was ejected from the game. Luke Gamoyda made 15 saves for the Cougars on 22 shots. Schomberg registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. For the Cougars, Mitchell Robinson and Lampe were ejected from the contest.
