The Schomberg Cougars' Blake Culley had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-3 win over the Erin Shamrocks. Culley found the back of the net 7:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Schomberg and again while 16:33 into the third to make the score 5-3 Schomberg.Schomberg pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 38 penalty minutes. The Cougars surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Schomberg averages 3.3 goals per game. The Cougars were held back by their power play unit, which tallied two goals on 14 chances. Schomberg also got points from John Gage, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Schomberg included Declan Lampe, Nathan Sinclair, and Justin Formenton, who scored one goal each. In addition, Schomberg received assists from Francesco Corona and Taylor Ewart, who contributed one each and Derek Neilly, Joseph Mete, and Brandon Yorke, who each chipped in two. Erin racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and two majors for 62 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 23.0 minutes per game the Shamrocks had been spending in the box. Erin was led by Tyler Topham, who registered one goal and one assist. Topham scored 11:06 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Pat Reay provided the assist. Erin also had goals scored by Adam Anderson and Chris Grenier, who each put in one. More assists for Erin came via Adam Gibson and Brad Ranson, who contributed one each. Schomberg's Ewart stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. For the Cougars, Matthew Hudgin and Ryley Egerton were ejected from the contest. Tom Denstedt made 21 saves for the Shamrocks on 26 shots. Erin registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Team's Jordan Brown, Cameron DeFazio, and Braydon Cresswell were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
