Barosso's goals lift Alliston to 6-2 victory over Midland

Behind a great game by Mike Barosso, who had two goals, the Alliston Hornets defeated the Midland Flyers, 6-2.

Barosso scored at 3:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alliston and again while 3:37 into the second to make the score 3-1 Alliston.

Alliston's penalty kill excelled, as the Hornets gave up one goal despite allowing 10 power plays.

Alliston also got points from Tanner Dockerty, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Mark ODonnell, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Nic Archibald, who also had one goal and two assists. Alliston also got a goal from Nick Arcan as well. In addition, Alliston received assists from Jamie Bennett, Joe Cochrane, and Ryan Franks, who each chipped in one and Zack Byblow and Matt Taylor, who contributed two each.

Midland was helped by Steven Pickard, who finished with one goal and one assist. Pickard scored 9:57 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Alliston. Neal Burgess assisted on the tally. Midland additionally got points from Evan Buehler, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Midland were Jon Goldsworthy, who had one.

TJ Sherwood recorded 21 saves for Alliston. The Hornets incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Alliston ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Payton Dunlop was ejected from the game. The Flyers' Matt Camilleri stopped 19 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Midland ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For the Flyers, Matt Smith was ejected from the game.
