Penetang rides Redgate to victory over Huntsville, 4-1

Canada Summit Centre    Sun, Nov 23, 2014

The Penetang Kings relied on the sparkling performance of Adam Redgate in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Huntsville Otters.

Penetang's penalty kill excelled, as the Kings gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Penetang was led by Ryan Hackett, who racked up one goal. Hackett scored 5:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Penetang. Michael Paul picked up the assist.

The Kings stifled Huntsville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Penetang was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 36 penalty minutes.

Penetang also got points from Craig Robinson, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Penetang also had goals scored by Zach Bertucca and Matt VanBoven, who scored one goal each. In addition, Penetang received assists from Kyle Burns, Brad Kuepfer, and Mackenzie Bumstead, who each chipped in one.

The Otters' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Penetang power plays. Huntsville's offense operated below its season average. The Otters put an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game.

Huntsville was led by Walker Davison, who scored the team's only goal. Davison scored 19:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Sean Crowe provided the assist.

Redgate rejected 27 shots on goal for the Kings. The Otters' Connor Christianson stopped 20 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Huntsville incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
